Set out on a memorable journey to the world’s highest peak. With this perfectly planned 16-Day itinerary from Kathmandu, you can enjoy culture and spectacular scenery while acclimatizing gently. The route is considered adventurous and moderately difficult, reaching its highest viewpoint at Kala Patthar (5,545m), while Everest Base Camp sits at an altitude of 5,364 meters. This package provides quality accommodation in teahouses and mountain lodges, all necessary permits, and the peak-season alternate flight routes from Manthali/Ramechhap to Lukla.
As the saying goes, one reaps the most beautiful scenery at the top of the hardest climb, and no other hike comes as close to proving that statement as the Everest Base Camp Trek.
The trek starts with a thrilling scenic flight to the airstrip at Lukla where you will be welcomed by our professional local trekking team. From there, the route follows the clear river streams of the Dudh Koshi River into the heart of the Khumbu region. Along the way, we move away from typical tourist routes to discover colorful, hospitable villages. Spend some time acclimatizing in Namche Bazaar, the main gateway to the Khumbu Valley, where you can experience the fascinating cultural traditions and warm hospitality of the Sherpas.
After full acclimatization, we then join the paths that have led some of history's best mountaineers to Base Camp. If visiting in April, you will observe the excitement of international expeditions gearing up for their spring climbs. The ultimate highlight of the trek is the climb up to Kala Patthar at 5,545 meters. Here, you will be able to gaze across at Everest itself as well as colossal Lhotse, Nuptse, and Ama Dablam.
