Most of our customers describe the difficulty they faced choosing a tourism agency in Nepal.  We realize that the products we offer appear almost identical to the choice provided by dozens of other agencies out there.  One thing is clear though; our service cannot be matched.  We're bound to tell you we're good, but you're more likely to believe the dozens of delighted customers who have written to us.  We've listed below some comments we've received recently to give you a bit of an insight into what you can expect from us.

We arrived in Kathmandu in October 2006 as part of a round-the-world-trip. We love the mountains and were keen to do as much trekking in the Nepalese Himalayas as time and money would allow us. We set our sights on trekking first in the Manaslu region and then in the Everest region. We visited several agencies in Kathmandu but were most impressed by Encounters Nepal. Krishna was always so friendly and helpful and spent a lot of time going through our options and helping us meet our budget. The 18 day Manaslu trek is not a tea-house trek. However we had our own camping and cooking equipment so to keep the cost down we wanted to be self-sufficient in terms of cooking and sleeping arrangements. This is an unusual request as most operators prefer to provide tentage and catering. Krishna understood our needs and kitted us out with an excellent, experienced, English speaking guide and three experienced porters. Krishna even managed to rush through our permits given we had arrived during a major public holiday this was great as any delay would have meant less time trekking!!
It was a fabulous trek our guide and porters were very attentive helping us pack up in the mornings and finding us good camping sites. We slightly underestimated our food requirements for the 18 days our porters and guide were great at procuring any extras we needed like eggs, tea and milk. Our guide was very knowledgeable in letting us know about how the villagers live, the mountains we would see and the terrain. Our safety was also important and we were given time to acclimatise properly and if we took a stumble we were always asked if we were okay. The service we received on this trek could not be faulted and it made for truly fantastic experience. The Manaslu trek was for us unforgettable because it is a restricted area and the permit is more expensive than other regions it is less visited. This means it is less affected by the demands of tourists and you feel like you are really seeing how rural Nepalis live in the mountains. We had some wonderful moments meeting local Nepalis. My favourite moment was walking in the company of a group of school children on their long walk home.
Because we had such great service on our first trek we asked Krishna to help organise our trip to Everest. We planned on three weeks in the Everest region and trekked up the Gokyo Valley over the Cho La to Everest Base Camp and then to Chhukung Ri and back out. Krishna organised our flights and yet another excellent guide with superb English and knowledge of the area. We incorporated several side trips and really enjoyed the stunning scenery. Our guide ensured we were well looked after at the tea-houses along the way and allowed us to decide how far we wanted to walk each day and if we wanted to rest without compromising our acclimatisation and well-being. Our only criticism would be that he was a pretty mean card-player just as well we weren't playing for money!! We'll forgive him because he kept our spirits up waiting out the flight to and from Lukla!!
We would definitely take-up Encounters Nepal's services again in the future and recommend them to anyone planning a trip to Nepal. Krishna became a good friend of ours and we keep in touch with him still. We are now having a baby and so future trekking is on hold.. In a few years time we hope to take our child to Nepal because it would be such a good experience for children to see how rural Nepalis live and Nepalis love children and I'm sure Krishna would find us staff that would look after our child brilliantly!! SO LOOK-OUT Encounters Nepal the Tubby family will be back...

Thank you for making our Nepal experience the favourite part of our trip of a life time in 2006!

I thought I'd done sufficient homework before I left the UK.  Thought the choice of trekking agency would be easy but when I arrived in Kathmandu, there were hundreds of agencies to choose from, all offering pretty much the same. Then I found Kris at Encounters Nepal.com. At last all the boxes ticked.  All I wanted was a responsible agency that wasn't going to rip me off and would act on its claim of being an eco-tourism service provider!  Encounters Nepal.com exceeded my expectations.  I knew what I was getting, there were no hidden extras, my guide was informative and resourceful, he was insured and so was my porter!  I was supplied with drinking water, which not only saved me a bundle of cash; I was delighted that I wasn't adding to Nepal's own Bottle Mountain!  Most importantly, they were professional and I could trust them.
Trust me, book with them.  I've booked for next year already.

Namaste Rishi,

I write to thank you for the outstanding service you provided during visit to Nepal. When you provided a guide service for myself and friend.

Your care and attention at all times during the fifteen day trek to the Everest Region was outstanding. You made the trek most enjoyable with your commentary on the country, the flora and fauna which was unique to the region and the people, their customs and history. You may not have been aware but other trekkers noticed the standard of service and openly commented to us. Some we were told were not as fortunate as us and were not impressed with the standard of service they had received from their guide.

Your pride in your Nepal, your work and the company you represented was obvious to us in everything you did and further reinforced when we noticed you pick up and put in your pocket small food wrappers along the trail which had been dropped by careless trekkers.

Thank you once again for your most professional service, we wish you well for the future.

Yours faithfully

Terry Banks
