Mountaineering in NEPAL…Physical challenges that rediscover life..Nepal is the ultimate destination for mountaineers & adventure enthusiasts. Nepal’s towering mountains have been captivating the imagination of mountain climbers for centuries. Every year hundreds of expeditions trudge up the grueling Himalayas. Nothing on planet earth can beat the exhilaration of scaling any one of these peaks,as tall as they stand. No matter what your goals or choices may be, trekking a “peak” or one of those 8000 meter “alpine mountains” Encounters Nepal will meticulously plan your program & hike with you all the way right up there. We’ve done it down the years. The Nepalese Himalayas is one of the world's greatest trekking destinations. It is a land of snow peaks and fluttering prayer flags, yak caravans and epic mountain adventures. It’s a place for the bold & the brave.
There are two organizations control climbing expeditions in Nepal. The ministry of tourism and civil aviation (MoTCA) is responsible for major expeditions and the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) is responsible for trekking peaks. The basic rules are the higher the peak you intend to climb, the greater the fees. Mountaineering expeditions are similar to challenging treks but such expeditions involve basic mountaineering above the snow line using ice axes, crampons, ropes and necessary climbing gear under the careful instruction and supervision of the climbing leader/guide. The rules for mountaineering on major peaks require a minimum of six months advance application to the ministry of tourism and civil aviation for a climbing permit completed application, endorsement of National Alpine Club, of the country organizing the expedition. Short biographies of all the members of expedition team (with photograph and signature) map and photograph of the mountain indicating climbing route and approach route map are part of the procedures that finally get you your permit to do the climb. CLIMBING 'EXPEDITION PEAKS'…Irrespective of your physical attributes or your credentials…a clarion call to the wild is welcome to one & all… From the rolling country of the Himalayan foothills to seriously high-altitude treks on rock and ice, many of these lesser-known routes have been united under the banner of Nepal’s Great Himalayan ranges that stretches from east to west & north to south of the country; & rolls across the borders to Bhutan, Tibet & India. Encounters Nepal, in its bid to encourage tourists to explore more of the country, seeks to develop more exciting avenues in the Nepal section alone which possesses a mind-blowing 1,700km of tracks, divided into 10 different sections that make up the whole spectrum of Nepal’s vast natural reserves that cover vast swathes of pine forests, glaciers & some of the most stunning peaks & mountains in the world. Our Guides are well experienced climbing human beings who were born on the steppes of these rugged mountains & truly enjoy their jobs. They are trained to escort you safely into the "thin air" of the Himalayas, and are particularly knowledgeable about the acclimatization process.
