Annapurna Panorama Trekking commonly known as Ghorepani - Poonhill trek is a colorful petite expedition that includes all the amazing panorama of the Annapurna mountain region. The Annapurna region has spectacular panoramic views of the valleys, mountains, wildlife and sub-tropical rhododendron forests. The trail winds all the way through hodgepodge valleys, intense mossy forests and past icy cascades. The astonishing view of Machhapuchhre (popularly known as Fishtail Peak) takes over the skyline throughout the trek. The diverse lifestyle and culture of the ethnic people of mountain can be experienced while passing through picturesque Gurung villages in these far-flung regions. An awesome panoramic view of huge mountains like Annapurna 8091m, Dhaulagiri, 8167m, Nilgiri, Himchuli, Machhapuchhre, and South Annapurna is a great highlight of the trek. Best time for Annapurna Panorama trek is March - May and September - December but trek can be arranged in the whole year.
After arrival at Pokhara, our trekking trail begins at Nayapul, subsequently following the north bank of the Bhurungdi Khola and hiking gradually up the stone stairway to the village called Hile. The next point is Ghorepani village, and we get our foremost glimpses of the nearby mountains including Nilgiri and Annapurna South. Poon Hill, 3210m is the greatest standpoint of the Annapurnas which is reached after a brisk walk from Ghorepani.
From Ghorepani, the trail follows up and down hills, across watercourse, and airstream through sub-tropical bamboo, pine and rhododendron forests along with the view of wildlife including deer, unique birds, and often the white monkey inhabitant to this Annapurna region. After arrival at Ghandruk, a favorite traditional hillside community with rock houses typically inhabited by the Gurung tribe is an easy walk through the watercourses, fields and some remarkable thatched stone houses. Later, the trail tumbles down into the gorge, to the Modi Khola River, and then ascends to Pothana through Landruk. The ultimate stretch of the Annapurna Panorama Trekking is walking downhill through fields and forests to reach Phedi and drive back to Pokhara.
